School award for most impressive cross-curricular approach
At St Richard’s Catholic College, PFE has been integrated across the curriculum through schemes of work and individual lessons that are diverse and engaging. Every department in the school has completed an audit on how and where they deliver PFE, and a varied bank of lessons, resources and experiences have been developed across different curriculum subjects.
For instance, in Geography, year 8 students learn about globalisation and financial responsibilities, while in Information and Computer Technology all students consider income and expenditure of businesses.
St Richard’s Catholic College’s well-managed PFE programme showed the judges it had potential for longevity and tied in well with subjects such as Maths and Geography.
