Ms Sue Pearson showed a commitment to the teaching of PFE by conducting a student survey of the current programme, and used the results to develop a new financial awareness unit that included a year 11 ‘Focus Day’ which will use specialist staff to deliver sessions on loans, shares and mortgages, and that will incorporate ICT, group work, and student presentations.
Judges particularly noted Ms Pearson’s use of good management practice as it was recognised that this is not always easy to deliver.
