Teacher award
Robert Johnson, a newly qualified teacher and new member of staff at Wilmslow High School, impressed his colleagues by taking ownership of the development of financial awareness and capability in the school, working closely with the Maths and PSHE teams to investigate the school’s current PFE provision, and move it forward. He led the development of a package which will provide continuity in PFE from year 7 through to year 13. Examples of activities which form part of this package are:
- re-designed form tutor-delivered PSHE and Economic Understanding resources for year 8
- an off-timetable finance day for year 10s
- a year 13 student finance day, to prepare students for budgeting at University
This newly qualified teacher impressed the judges with his initiative, drive and quality planning.
