About the Awards
Why has RBS created these awards?
- To raise the profile of personal finance education (PFE)
- To celebrate outstanding achievement in PFE
- To help spread best practice in PFE
RBS introduced the awards in recognition of the growing importance of PFE in primary and secondary schools and colleges today. It is vital that young people learn how to understand and manage their finances at an early age.
The award scheme looks to discover and recognise the best efforts made by schools, colleges and individual teachers in PFE. The 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 awards proved that there are great examples of teaching going on in schools across the UK.
The scheme represents an ongoing commitment to building awareness of the importance of PFE and sharing best practice across the educational community.

We were overwhelmed that our student entry was considered the best in the country, and it’s fantastic to win this national competition. As year eleven students, it’s great that we can leave the college on such a high and we really hope that the work we have done with younger students will leave a legacy that continues long into the future.
