School award for most innovative approach to PFE
Rather than a whole programme, we will be looking for an innovation which has moved on the teaching and learning of PFE in your school. This could be a new specific initiative or single idea, or perhaps a one-off event which involved several departments. It could be a special project which included an outside agency or a practical approach to a learning module which inspired great feedback from the students.
For example, a school in Kent wanted to provide a lively off-timetable day for their Year 10 involving personal finance. They came up with the theme of buying and running a car and designed a number of group activities. These included looking at demonstration cars from local dealers and discussing how such a purchase could be financed, researching the cost of insurance and debating in groups the best used car purchases.
